Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, said, “no one — on either side of the border — wants to see American tariffs on Canadian goods.”
US President, Donald Trump, said, his administration will establish an External Revenue Service (ERS) “to collect tariffs, duties and all revenue that come from foreign sources”.
Trump’s statement forced PM Trudeau to hold a meeting with the Liberal Party Cabinet Ministers, where a resolution was reached for a “national response” to ensure Canadians are protected from “harmful US tariffs”.
The Canadian PM warned, “if the United States moves ahead, Canada’s ready with a forceful and immediate response.”
According to PM Trudeau: “No one — on either side of the border — wants to see American tariffs on Canadian goods.
I met with our Canada-U.S. Council today. We’re working hard to prevent these tariffs, but if the United States moves ahead, Canada’s ready with a forceful and immediate response.”
