Executive Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, announced, he commissioned the “first-ever” dual carriageway in Iwo, a town in the State, on Thursday 16 July, 2026.

The Governor revealed, there were “deliberate attempts” to decelerate their progress “by the wicked hijacking of local government allocation”, however, he remained committed and delivered “life-changing” projects across the Southwestern State.

He said, the current administration has moved past “empty promises”, and has shown through “action” that every part of the ‘State Of The Living Spring’ deserves “quality infrastructure and equal opportunities for growth”.

Governor Adeleke announced: “Yesterday, I commissioned the first-ever dual carriageway in Iwo, a landmark project by our administration, that reflects our unwavering commitment to the development of this great town.”

He said: “We have moved beyond empty promises and demonstrated, through action, that every part of Osun deserves quality infrastructure and equal opportunities for growth.

“Despite deliberate attempts to slow our progress by the wicked hijacking of local government allocation, we remained focused and delivered life-changing projects across the state.

“Our mission has always been clear from the beginning, to break the chains of underdevelopment and build a prosperous Osun where no community is left behind.”

Adeleke expressed “sincere” appreciation to the Oluwo of Iwo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abdul-Rasheed Adewale Akanbi (Telu I), as well as, the “good” people of Iwo for their “steadfast support and confidence in our administration”.

He assured, more “dividends of democracy” will be delivered in the coming years.

The Governor said: “Together, we will continue this journey of transformation and, by the grace of God, deliver even more dividends of democracy in the years ahead.”
