Governor Adeleke ‘leaving no stone unturned’ in preparing Osun State against ’emerging threats’

Executive Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has made known, his government is “taking proactive steps and leaving no stone unturned” in ensuring the Southwestern State is prepared to face “emerging threats”.

Adeleke said in a statement on Tuesday 2 June, 2026 that, he has conducted “extensive” security consultations “with stakeholders across the state, formal and informal, to strengthen our collective preparedness against emerging threats”.

He said, he commenced at the grassroots: “hunters, OPC, Agbekoya, Amotekun and community-based security groups.”

The Statement reads: “Today, we escalated to an expanded State Security Council session with service commanders. Every layer of our security architecture is activated and coordinated.”

The Governor said, the people of the State, schools alongside communities must be secured and that is “non-negotiable”, adding, he has deployed “intelligence gathering and coordinated actions” to ensure every “inch” of the State is protected.

Adeleke said: “Securing our schools, our communities and our people is non-negotiable and we are deploying intelligence gathering, strategic collaboration and coordinated action to protect every inch of the state.”

He disclosed, he “personally” got in touch with the Osun State Traditional Council of Obas through the Ooni of Ife, saying, these traditional rulers are the “eyes and ears” of their communities.

According to the Statement, Governor Adeleke said: “I have personally reached out to Osun State Traditional Council of Obas, through the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, and we will soon be meeting with all traditional rulers across Osun.

“They are not just custodians of our culture, they are also the eyes and ears of their domains, and critical partners in community security response.”

The Governor assured the “good” people of Osun State, “we are watching. We are working. And we will not relent”, and urged, “If you see something, say something”.
