Chukwuma Charles Soludo, Executive Governor of Anambra State, has said, he received members of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) to the Light House in Awka, the State Capital, for the Anambra State Data Verification Exercise.
Via a statement, Soludo said: “Yesterday, I welcomed members of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), led by their team leader, Alhaji Bello Abubakar Wamako, to the Light House in Awka for the Anambra State Data Verification Exercise.”
Their mission is to assess key indicators of the State such as, “population and landmass”, he said.
Soludo said: “The enumeration and verification teams, comprising federal commissioners and technical experts, have been deployed across the country to assess key indicators such as population, landmass, and internally generated revenue capacity.”
He said, the Southeastern State has not ceased to achieve “steady progress” in areas that reflect “productivity and responsible governance”; he added, the exercise will ensure every state receives “fair and equitable consideration” when it comes to national revenue allocation.
The Governor said: Anambra State has continued to make steady progress in areas that reflect productivity, enterprise, and responsible governance. Exercises such as this are therefore essential to ensuring that the indices used for national revenue allocation accurately reflect current realities and give every state fair and equitable consideration.”
The former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) said, he will not stop to “support initiatives that promote transparency, uphold integrity in governance, and advance the collective good of our people”.
