English midfielder, Elliott Anderson, has moved to Manchester City on a five-year deal.

The arrival of the 23-year old player was confirmed by the Club. He joined from Premier League side, Nottingham Forest . The deal will make him stay at Etihad Stadium until 2031.

The deal was to make the midfielder the most expensive player in British history, however, Morgan Rogers’ £117m transfer deal from Aston Villa to Chelsea remains at the top.

He said, he never hesitated when the deal to flaunt City’s colours was presented to him. He described Manchester City as “one of the biggest clubs in the world”.

Anderson said, he was “determined” to make the deal work out after City made their interests in him known; and expressed his willingness to do “everything” he can to “establish” himself in the Club.

Anderson said: “As soon as I knew [City] wanted me, I was absolutely determined to make this move happen

“You want to test yourself at the highest level. Being at City means I have that opportunity.

“As soon as I arrive in Manchester after a break, I will be doing everything I can to establish myself in the City team.”

In his first words as a Cityzens, Anderson said, former City midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne, is someone he “hugely looked up to”.

Anderson said: “It’s one of the biggest derbies in the world and, for as long as I’ve known, City have been the Kings of Manchester.

“Kevin De Bruyne is someone who I’ve hugely looked up to. I watched him all the time and to be sat here in the team that he was doing it for is so special.”
