PSG 5-4 Bayern Munich: Kvaratskhelia and Dembele score brace each as Les Parisiens earn narrow advantage

Paris Saint-Germaine (PSG) defeated Bayern Munich 5-4 in the Uefa Champions League semi final first leg at Parc des Princes in Paris on Tuesday 28 April, 2026.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembele netted twice each as the French Ligue 1 side emerged winners in the epic first leg clash on home soil.

It was an extraordinary showdown that emerged the highest-scoring match ever at this stage of the Champions League.

The first half was loaded with goals as forward, Harry Kane, handed Bayern Munich the lead from the penalty spot in the 17th minute, but, the hosts responded with two goals through Kvaratskhelia and Joao Neves in the 24th and 33rd minutes respectively.

Michael Olise levelled for the Bavarians in the 41st minute with an assist from Aleksandar Pavlovic.

In the 5th minute of first half additional time, Dembele returned PSG in from from the penalty spot.

Kvaratskhelia netted his second and fourth for the Les Parisiens in the 56th minute and in the 58th minute, Dembele made it five (5) to take the home side far in front of their German visitors.

But, in the 65th and 68th minutes, Bayern Munich fought back and Dayot Upamecano and Luis Diaz reduced the deficit with the third and fourth goals respectively.

Bayern Munich, German Bundesliga 2025/26 Winners, will be looking to overturn the loss in Paris when they welcome PSG for the second leg of the tie at Allianz Arena next week.

HC: Bayern Munich can still turn this game around next week and reach the final but Kompany needs to pay some attention to the defence
