Premier League 2024/25: Manchester City 4-1 West Ham – Haaland score brace as Cityzens open 2025 with victory

Manchester City ushered in 2025 in winning style as an Erling Braut Haaland brace along with a Vladimir Coufal own goal and Phil Foden strike saw hosts beat West Ham 4-1 at the Etihad.

Norwegian striker, Haaland, scored either side of the break and in the process emerged the third highest Premier League scorer at the Etihad, imcreasing his tally to 46 overall.

The two goals were assisted by Savinho who had had earlier helped fire City ahead, his 10th minute shot being deflected in by Coufal.

Foden’s 66th minute goal added the beauty to a memorable evening that saw skipper Kevin De Bruyne chalk up his 400th City career appearance.

Hammers netted their consolation in the 71st minute through Niklas Fullkrug.

This outcome makes it two (2) wins from two (2) encounters successively for Pep Guardiola.
