Benin discomfited Lesotho 4-0 in the CAF 2026 World Cup qualifier on Tuesday 9 September, 2025 at Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
S. Mounie scored first for Benin early, in the 6th minute, A. Hountondji made it two in the 23rd minute.
The Cheetahs went ahead to make it three through H. Imourane in the 33rd minute, and J. Olaitan sealed the win in the 67th minute to hand Benin maximum points.
The outcome means Benin has moved to second spot, amassing fourteen (14) points, behind Leaders, South Africa, with seventeen (17) points; Nigeria are third with eleven (11) points, while Lesotho are fifth with six (6) points; Zimbabwe are 6th with four (4) points. All after eight (8) games.
In the Group D qualifier between Cape Verde and Cameroon, the Island country defeated the Indomitable Lions by a lone goal.
