Trudeau, who travelled to the US Capital, Washington DC, for the State funeral of Jimmy Carter, said, former US Leader “showed us all what it means to live life with a purpose: to serve others”.
The State funeral in honour of Jimmy Carter is happening at the Washington Cathedral today, Thursday 9 January, 2025.
PM Trudeau wrote: “President Jimmy Carter was a consummate statesman, an architect of peace, and a person of profound goodness who showed us all what it means to live life with a purpose: to serve others.
We are grateful to have been his neighbor.”
Jimmy Carter, 39th President of the US, died on Sunday 29 December, 2024 in his home in Plains, Georgia “surrounded by his family”.
