Joe Biden, President of the United States (US), has announced $100 million for humanitarian aid in the city of Gaza and West Bank.
He also assured, there “will be mechanisms in place so this aid reaches those in need ā not Hamas or terrorist groups.”
Biden landed in Israel today, Wednesday 18 October, 2023 to “show solidarity” with Israel in its fighting against Hamas.
The fighting between Hamas and Israel started in the morning of Saturday 7 October, 2023 after Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel, killing hundreds of Israelis and taking several others hostage.
The $100 million for humanitarian assistance in Gaza and West Bank “will support over 1 million displaced and conflict-affected Palestinians”, the US President said.
President Biden said: “I just announced $100 million for humanitarian assistance in Gaza and the West Bank.
“This money will support over 1 million displaced and conflict-affected Palestinians.
“And we will have mechanisms in place so this aid reaches those in need ā not Hamas or terrorist groups.”
