USA at 250: America ‘gave a large part of humanity lasting peace and freedom’ – Zelenskky

President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskky, has sent his congratulatory message to the United States of America (USA) as the North American country marks its 250th anniversary on Saturday 4 July, 2026.

On X, The Ukrainian President described the American Dream as “one of humanity’s most influential dreams”, which is about “independence, freedom and happiness”.

He said, the dream has helped humanity stand strong and “freer”, adding, America “gave a large part of humanity lasting peace and freedom”.

In his tribute to the USA, Zelenskky wrote: “Today marks the 250th anniversary of one of humanity’s brightest, strongest, and most influential dreams – the American Dream of an independent, free, and prosperous nation that defends people’s freedom, faith, and the pursuit of happiness.

“That dream has endured many trials. And served as an example for other nations and helped the entire humanity stand firm and become freer.

“America gave a large part of humanity lasting peace and the opportunity to develop in freedom.”

The USA is celebrating its 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence with nationwide events, encompassing, a series of performances and fireworks displays.

Due to the country’s struggles with intense heat currently, some of the performances marking the huge anniversary have had to be cancelled or suspended.

Temperatures exceeding 100F (38C) are expected along parts of the East Coast, while thunderstorms and flash flooding could follow in the coming days.

President Zelenskky further wrote: “The world needs the kind of leadership that guarantees protection for freedom and for life.

“I wish America a happy Fourth of July, the President of the United States and all Americans every success, and all of us around the world who value America – fruitful cooperation.

“May the dreams of free people always triumph over the evil and hatred of those who seek to destroy freedom.

“Congratulations on your Independence Day!”
