Head Coach, Frank Lampard, has given an update on American striker, Haji Wright, ahead of the top flight match against Arsenal on Friday night.
At his pre-Arsenal presser, the former Chelsea manager said, Wright will not feature for the Sky Blues when they lock horns with the Gunners in North London.
Lampard’s Coventry City will travel to the Capital for a Premier League 2026/27 showdown against Arsenal at 20:00 (WAT) at Emirates Stadium.
The United States (US) Senior National Team forward missed out when the newly promoted Coventry City fielded against RCD Espanyol and AS Monaco.
According to Coventry City official website, speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of the Premier League opener against Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, Lampard said: “Haji Wright won’t be available for the Arsenal game.
“He won’t be available for a little while, he’s got a very serious quad injury which is disappointing for Haji and for us.
“It’s certainly going to be a number of weeks, could even be up to 12 weeks.”
Lampard, who flaunted the Chelsea colours as a midfielder, also gave updates on English midfielder, Jack Rudoni, and Jamaica international, Ephron Mason-Clark; he said, both players will be in action against the Gunners.
Frank Lampard guided Coventry City to Championship 2025/26 glory, finishing with ninety-five (95) points. Out of forty-six (46) games, the Sky Blues won twenty-eight (28), drew eleven (11) and lost seven (7). Ipswich Town, another side promoted to the Premier League finished second with eighty-four (84) points.
