King and Queen to ‘undertake’ a state visit to US

King Charles III and Queen Camilla of the United Kingdom (UK) will “undertake” a state visit to the United States of America (USA).

The State visit was announced by The Royal Family on Tuesday 31 March, 2026.

Their Majesties will be heading to America on the invitation of Donald Trump, President of the United States (US).

A statement on X by The Royal Family discloses, during the state visit, both sides will celebrate the “historic” connection that exists between the UK and the US, as well as, to mark America’s 250th Independence anniversary.

And, from the United States (US), King Charles III will journey to Bermuda, a self-governing British Overseas Territory in the North Atlantic Ocean, where the British Monarch will “undertake” his first Royal visit since ascending the throne as King.

The King’s State visit to America will take place in late April and will encompass a “beautiful” Banquet Dinner at the White House, Washington DC, the US President made known on Truth Social.

The Royal Family announced: “On advice of His Majesty’s Government, and at the invitation of The President of the United States, The King and Queen will undertake a State Visit to the United States of America.

“Their Majesties’ programme will celebrate the historic connections and the modern bilateral relationship between the UK and the US, marking the 250th anniversary of American Independence.

“The King will continue to Bermuda to undertake His Majesty’s first Royal Visit as Monarch to a British Overseas Territory.”

The 45th and 47th US President described the state visit as “momentous” and said, it will be “even more special” this year.

President Trump announced: “Melania and I are pleased to announce that Their Majesties, the King and Queen of the United Kingdom, will visit the United States for a Historic State Visit from April 27-30th, which will include a beautiful Banquet Dinner at the White House on the evening of April 28th.

“This momentous occasion will be even more special this year, as we commemorate the 250th Anniversary of our Great Country. I look forward to spending time with the King, whom I greatly respect. It will be TERRIFIC!”
