Dutch defender, Virgil Van Dijk, has expressed his optimism that Liverpool will find their way back to winning ways after their top flight clash with Nottingham Forest.
The Premier League 2025/26 encounter between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest saw Arne Slot’s Reds messed up by three (3) goals to zero (0) right inside Anfield.
The Netherlands international said, he has been fielding for Liverpool for “such a long time” and experienced so much with the Club, adding, the Reds “will bounce back”.
However, Van Dijk admitted, Liverpool has a lot of work to do to come back, and will be done as a team.
Murillo put Nottingham Forest in front in the 33rd minute, and N. Savona added the second in the 46th minute.
The Tricky Trees, hungry for more goals, made it three in the 78th minute through M. Gibbs-White to douse the defending champions on home turf.
The outcome piles more pressure on Dutch head coach, Slot, whose Reds have been performing way below expectation this season.
On Liverpool’s official X account, in his post-defeat comments, Van Dijk said: “I’ve been in this Club for such a long time now, we have been through ups and downs already and we will bounce back. But these things don’t happen overnight, you have to work and do it together.”
Currently, Liverpool are 11th on the table with 18 points while Nottingham Forest are 16th with 12 points.
Next, Liverpool will welcome Dutch Eredivisie side, PSV Eindhoven, for the Uefa Champions League 2025/26 League Phase match on Wednesday 26 November, 2025 at 21:00 (WAT).
