Imo Governor Uzodimma to digitalize real estate business ‘to instill decency and accountability’

Executive Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, said, his administration will introduce digitalization into the Real Estate business in the Southeastern State.

The Governor explained, the move will ensure “proper documentation”, and said, it is important to instill “decency, integrity and accountability”.

Uzodimma added, digitalizing the sector will help bring back confidence of the public, and entice prospective investors.

The Governor made the announcement during his inspection of the newly constructed Imo Land Information Service Center (IMLISC), which is erected within the compound of the Ministry of Lands, Survey and Physical Planning, Owerri.

Taking to his official X account, Governor Uzodimma said: “The time has come for the digitalization of the business of Real Estate in our dear State for proper documentation.

“This essential reform is key to instilling decency, integrity, and accountability within the sector, thereby restoring the confidence of the public and attracting prospective investors—especially now that we have created a conducive atmosphere for investments to thrive in the State.

“During my inspection of the newly constructed Imo Land Information Service Center (IMLISC), situated within the premises of the Ministry of Lands, Survey and Physical Planning, Owerri, I expressed satisfaction with the quality and standard of work delivered.

“The center will provide critical services such as e-land search, land recertification, issuance of Certificates of Occupancy (C of O), change of land ownership, among others.

“This initiative is a strategic step toward enthroning transparency and ending the era of protracted and unresolved litigations in land transactions.

“It is also a safeguard for the public, ensuring that unsuspecting individuals are no longer defrauded under the guise of land dealings.”
