The Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon are Queens of Africa for the first time in their history after walloping Malawi by three (3) goals to zero (0) in the CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) 2026 final in Rabat on Sunday.
The West Africans are now wearing the crown after scaling through tough opponents in the quarter and semi finals in Morocco; Nigeria and Morocco, 1-0 and 3-1 (pen) respectively.
For her outstanding outing for Cameroon, Monique Ngock was awarded Woman Of The Competition.
Malawi’s Temwa Chawinga bagged the Golden Boot after netting five (5) goals in the competition.
Following beautiful performances in the tournament, several players and team were handed accolades, and the Indomitable Lionesses carted the Lion share of the honours.
