‘You are a desp*cable woman’ – Mbappe responds to r*cist statement from Paraguay Senator Amarilla

France forward, Kylian Mbappe, has responded to Celeste Amarilla after the Senator of Paraguay fired racist statement at the Frenchman.

Amarilla’s racist statement against the Real Madrid goal machine came some hours after France ousted Paraguay in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 16 by a lone goal on Saturday 4 July, 2026 at Philadelphia Stadium in Pennsylvania, United States (US).

In reaction after Paraguay were ousted from the tournament, Amarilla said, Mbappe “sucked on coconuts instead of breast milk and only knew chimpanzees”.

The only goal of the game was netted by Mbappe in the 70th minute from the penalty spot.

In his response on X, Mbappe called Amarilla a “despicable woman”, and said, she is “unworthy” of her position.

In support of Mbappe, Premier League football outfit, Everton, said: “Respect for speaking up, Kylian”.

Mbappe responded: “Madame Celeste Amarilla,

“You are a despicable woman and unworthy of your position. You do not represent Paraguay, that country which has sweated passion and honor throughout the competition.

“Through your recklessness and your brazen racism, the entire world has already forgotten the journey and the historic effort that your players accomplished during this World Cup, making way for an incompetent woman who gives the worst possible image of her country.

“I will never allow people like her the freedom to spread their hatred and racism across the world.”

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), described Amarilla’s racist statement against the former Paris Saint-Germaine (PSG) as a “disgrace”, and called on the Senator to tender an apology to Mbappe.

Everton posted on X: “Football is for everyone and the World Cup is about uniting the world for the game we love. Respect for speaking up, Kylian, #AllTogetherNow “
