Trump leaves China after ‘very successful’ talks with Xi

Donald Trump, President of the United States (US), has departed Beijing, China following a summit that lasted two (2) days, revealing, he sealed “fantastic trade deals, great for both countries”, however, few information has emerged on what the two (2) Heads of State agreed.

The US President arrived Beijing for a high-stakes summit with Xi Jinping, President of China, on Wednesday. Trump was accompanied by several CEOs: a top-notch business delegation from different sectors including, agriculture, aviation, electric vehicles and artificial intelligence (AI) chips.

Near the zenith of the agenda was trade as businesses looked towards crucial deals as well as an extension of the tariff truce that is due for expiration in November.

Trump was received in China with a loaded schedule that encompassed, an honour guard, a state banquet, and an invitation to the exclusive compound where China’s Communist Party leaders live and work.

The 45th and 47th US President appeared impressed and extended an invitation to the Chinese President to the White House, Washington DC, in September.

Trump made known, conversations had been “very successful”, while, Xi labelled it a “historic” visit.

Wang Yi, Foreign Minister of China, confirmed on Friday that Xi would visit the White House in autumn.

Neither side has announced any breakthroughs in trade deals or significant business deals, however, Trump spoke to newsmen aboard Air Force One and said, China has agreed to purchase Boeing jets, with a potential commitment to buy additional planes. The aerospace giant confirmed the deal.

The US Leader also said, American farmers will be happy with his trade deals because China would be buying lots of soybeans.

No confirmed deals or purchases from China, but, if the Boeing deals are sealed, it would be the airplane manufacturer’s first major Chinese deal in almost a decade.

Mao Ning, Spox of Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), said via X as Trump exited China, “a new beginning”.

Ning posted: “President Trump has wrapped up his visit to China. A farewell, also a new beginning.”
