Chelsea 1-0 Leeds United: Fernandez win POTM as Blues reach FA Cup final

Chelsea have progressed to the final of the FA Cup 2025/26 with a 1-0 victory over Leeds United in the semi final match on Sunday 26 April, 2026 at Wembley Stadium.

It was Enzo Fernandez’ first half header that settled the dull FA Cup semi final clash against the Peacocks on Sunday evening as the Blues made a winning start following the sacking of Liam Rosenior.

Callum MacFarlane is now in charge at Stamford Bridge on Interim basis until the conclusion of the season, and, will now guide Chelsea in the final against Manchester City.

Manchester City and Chelsea will do battle for the FA Cup trophy in the final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 16 May, 2026.

Leeds’ hopes of making it to the FA Cup final for the first time since 1973 was squashed after Fernandez headed the Blues in front in the 23rd minute with an assist from Pedro Neto.

The Peacocks are now left to cry over several missed goal chances which they would have converted and turned the game around positively for themselves.

Leeds United recorded the showdown’s first big opportunity when Brenden Aaronson raced clear from Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s touch, however, Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez made a crucial save with his legs.

At halftime, Sanchez was forced into action to save another effort from Anton Stach, and, Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s straight header from close range was saved by the Blues goalie.

Chelsea will now be looking to clinch a trophy and put to an end a run of losing their past three FA Cup finals when they collide with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City next month in London.
