Armed men have invaded a mosque in Katsina state, Nigeria during morning prayers, and murdered at least a dozen people.
According to officials the assault may have been a reprisal following clashes earlier.
Gunmen stormed a mosque in the Nigerian town of Unguwan Mantau in Katsina state in the morning of Tuesday, and killed at least thirteen (13) people during prayers, local authorities disclosed.
The attack is happening days after both town residents and the Nigerian military were reported to have targeted armed group members.
According to Reuters news agency, report have it that at least 27 worshippers had been killed in the mosque attack.
