Hope Uzodimma, Executive Governor of Imo State, announced, his government has reconstituted the Imo State Boundary Committee, to be chaired by his Deputy, Lady (Dr.) Chinyere Ekomaru.
The move is to ensure “sustainable peace and security in our border communities”, the Governor said, adding, it is also crucial in helping to resolve “border-related issues”, and, “preventing potential conflicts”.
Governor Uzodimma made known via X: “In recognition of the fact that sustainable peace and security in our border communities, as well as effective cooperation with our neighboring States, are crucial to the socio-economic development of Imo State, I have reconstituted the Imo State Boundary Committee, to be chaired by my Deputy, Lady (Dr.) Chinyere Ekomaru.
“Working collaboratively with the National Boundary Commission, the committee is saddled with critical responsibilities, including the maintenance and accurate delineation of the nation’s administrative maps, with particular attention to the boundaries affecting Imo State.
“This task is critical to resolving boundary-related issues and preventing potential conflicts that may arise from territorial misunderstandings.
“It is expected that the committee will approach their responsibilities with the diligence and objectivity required, in the interest of our State and the nation.”
