Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, said, he engaged extensively with the Service Chiefs of all security agencies in Southwestern State following “resurgence of age long communal clashes” in Ifon, Ilobu and Erin Osun communities.
Governor Adeleke said: “Over the past 48 hours, I have engaged extensively with the Service Chiefs of all security agencies in Osun State through numerous calls and consultations.
“Earlier today, I convened an emergency security meeting attended by representatives of the following agencies:
•Nigeria Police Force
•Nigerian Army
•Department of State Services (DSS)
•Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)
•National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA)
•Nigeria Immigration Service
•Amotekun Corps
•Nigeria Correctional Service
“As we begin implementing the comprehensive resolutions reached at the meeting, I urge all residents of Osun State, particularly those in Ifon, Ilobu, and Erin-Osun communities, to cooperate with security agencies as they work to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of lives and property.
“I also call on our traditional leaders to appeal to their people to uphold peace. Furthermore, I will be meeting with the traditional rulers of the affected communities to foster dialogue and ensure lasting resolutions.”
