The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal in Abuja commenced pre-hearing today, Monday 8 May, 2023.
The outcome of the 2023 Presidential Election conducted on Saturday 25 February, 2023 is being challenged at the Appeal Court in Abuja.
The tightly-contested election produced the 2023 Presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as Nigeria’s President-elect.
According to INEC’s result, Tinubu discomfited Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP); Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP); Rabiu Kwakwanso of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP); alongside other Presidential candidates of other Political Parties to emerge victorious.
Tinubu was declared winner and handed his Certificate of Return by the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu.
The Tribunal assured that Justice will surely be served.
