Paul Pelosi, husband of the speaker of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, is recovering from surgery after suffering a hammer-attack from an intruder at the home of the couple in San Francisco.

82-year old Pelosi, suffered a fractured skull and injuries to his right arm and hands, however, he is expected to recover fully.
The attack has ignited fears about political violence as the 8 November midterm elections approach.
David Depape, the 42-year old suspect, is said to have demanded to see Mrs Pelosi.
President Biden has described the unfortunate incident as “despicable”.
During a speech in Philadelphia, he said, “enough is enough is enough. Every person of good conscience needs to clearly and unambiguously stand up against the violence in our politics, regardless of what your politics are”.
However, Police investigating the attack on Mr Pelosi, told newsmen, a motive as regards the attack, which they deemed an attempted murder, has not been ascertained.
