Former Leader of China, Jiang Zemin, has died at the age of 96. He came into power after the Tiananmen Square protests.

According to State media, Zemin died on Wednesday, just after noon in the city of Shanghai.
Zemin’s death comes as the Asian country experiences some of its most intense protests since the Tiananmen Square protest, with many demonstrating against Covid restrictions.
Former President of China, Jiang Zemin, oversaw China’s entry into the World Trade Organisation in 2001.
