Former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Silva, has emerged winner of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Bayelsa Gubernatorial Primary Election conducted in the South-South State.

Chairman of the Election Committee, Ahmed Jibrin, announced the result at the APC Secretariat in Yenagoa, the capital city of Bayelsa.
Silva polled 52, 061 votes, discomfiting the other five contenders to clinch the governorship ticket at the Party’s primary election held on Friday and Saturday.
