Sudan Unrest: Generals not willing to stop fighting – UN

A top aid official of the United Nations (UN) has said, the “will to end the fight still was not there”.

This is coming after speaking to the military leaders of Sudan.

As told the BBC, Martin Griffiths said, Sudan’s fall into violence was now at a dangerous tipping level.

Griffiths called for security guarantees from both warring sides to allow humanitarian aid into the North African country.

The United Nations (UN) warns that, the fighting has the capability to force hundreds of thousands of Sudanese to flee their homes.

Mr Griffiths said, “the rigid existential fact that those at war are keen to keep it going”.
