He said, “the western world would collapse without tax”, further saying that, Nigerians “don’t pay taxes” and that makes it impossible to have “good roads, schools, hospitals and cheap fuel”.
Omokri revealed, he “paid ₦1.6 million in tax annually for the four years I worked in Nigeria, and I have the receipt”, also, he shared a photo of his ‘Employee Payslip’ which disclosed his ‘Cummulative Income’ and his ‘Cummulative Tax Deduct’.
He said: “Without tax, the Western world would collapse. Many of us in Nigeria compare our nation with Europe and America. But we don’t pay taxes. We want good roads, schools, hospitals and cheap fuel. Where will the money come from? What are you doing for your country other than complaining? I paid ₦1.6 million in tax annually for the four years I worked in Nigeria, and I have the receipt. At that time, ₦1.6 million was equivalent to over $10,000 (may God bless President Jonathan’s handling of the economy). We want Europe and America-style development from our government without having Europe and America-style responsibilities to our country. Ko le werk!”
