The Spaniard made the statement ahead of the top flight encounter between his side, the Villans, and the Foxes on Saturday evening.
Aston Villa will slug it out with Leicester City in the Premier League match at Villa Park on Saturday 4 January, 2025 at 16:00 (WAT).
Emery said, “We had a very good year, but trying to separate last year, last season and this season.”
At his press conference prior to the home match, Emery said: “It’s a challenge and our challenge is to also try to improve, increase our level, demands and standards in everything.”
He continued: “We are starting the new year focused on our match against Leicester, starting at home at Villa Park. We had a very good year, but trying to separate last year, last season and this season.”
