The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the final figures of PVCs collected ahead of the Osun State Governorship Election 2026.
Via a Press Statement released on Friday 14 August, 2026, INEC revealed, the State recorded a total of “2,339,233” registered voters, while “432,843” PVCs are yet to be collected, “1,906,390” have been collected.
The collected Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) make up “81.5 percent” of the total registered voters.
The Osun State Governorship Election will take place on Saturday 15 August, 2026; and the ruling Party, All Progressives Congress (APC), through the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, said, the Party is focused on “victory“.
The Press Statement titled ‘Final Figures Of Collected Permanent Voter Cards ahead of Osun Governorship Election’ reads: “Out of the total of 2,339,233 registered voters in the State, 1,906,390 PVCs, representing 81.50 per cent, have been collected.
“The remaining 432,843 PVCs, representing 18.50 per cent, have been safely deposited with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), in line with the Commission’s established practice.
“Similarly, it should be noted that some persons with damaged, defaced, or lost PVCs applied for replacement of their cards. A total of 6,101 among those who applied printed downloadable copies of their PVCs.
“A table of of the PVCs collected, Polling Unit by Polling Unit (PU), has been published on the Commission’s website.”
Nigeria’s Electoral Body assured Political Parties and the “good” people of Osun State of its complete “readiness” to conduct a “free, fair and transparent” election on Saturday.
The Press Statement signed by Mohammed Kudu Haruna, National Commissioner, Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, further reads: “The Commission reassures political parties, civil society organisations, media, and the good people of Osun State of its total readiness to conduct a free, fair, credible, transparent, and inclusive election on Saturday, 15th August 2026.”
