Teenager Evan Ferguson netted a hat-trick to help the Seagulls clinch all three points of the encounter.
Ferguson, Republic of Ireland striker, opened scoring for the hosts in the 27th minute.
The 18-year old went ahead to make it two in the 65th minute with a beautiful effort from 25 yards, and netted his tenth (10th) Premier League goal and first hat-trick in the 70th minute to make it three (3) for Brighton.
Callum Wilson pulled one back for the Magpies in the 2nd minute of additional time, however, it was too late to motivate the visitors for a comeback.
