The fighting between Hamas and Israel started in the morning of Saturday 7 October, 2023 after Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel through the country’s Southern region.
Hamas attack on Israel resulted to the death of hundreds of Israelis, with several others taken hostage.
As released by IDF, on the 6th day of the War Against Hamas, the Operational Update on Thursday 12 October, 2023 reveals:
- 95+ families notified that their loves ones were taken hostage
- 1,200+ Israelis killed
- 3,000+ Israelis injured
- 5,000+ rockets fired from Gaza
- 2,687 targets struck
