Kaylee Hottle, American actress, who starred in the Godzilla vs Kong movie series, has died at the age of eighteen (18) in a car crash.
The actress, who was deaf, portrayed a young orphan, named Jia in the 2021 blockbuster, and repeated the role in 2024 sequel Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.
Joshua Hottle, her father, released a statement of her passing via a video on Facebook, using American Sign Language to confirm details of her death.
In Frederick, Maryland, Police Offices said, “excessive speed” could be the reason for the one-vehicle mishap which occurred in the morning of Tuesday.
The Texas School for the Deaf also confirmed the death of Hottle, expressing “profound sadness”.
The School said in a statement: “Our hearts are with Kaylee’s family, friends, classmates, and everyone who knew and loved her during this incredibly difficult time.”
Also, it called for everyone to respect the privacy of the Hottles and to not speculate about the death of the actress.
American film studio, Warner Bros, which distributed the famous hit movies, paid tribute to Hottle alongside amphit of the actress on Social Media.
Officers were called to the scene of the crash in Ijamsville, according to Frederick County Sherriff’s Office.
Hottle featured in Godzilla vs Kong alongside Hollywood stars including Alexander Skarsgard, Millie Bobby Brown and Rebecca Hall. The actress’ role in the 2024 sequel earned her a Saturn Award nomination for best younger performer in a film.
