California Wildfires: President Biden approves Governor Newsom’s request for a ‘major disaster declaration’

US President, Joe Biden, announced, he has approved the request by Governor of California State, Gavin Newsom, “for a major disaster declaration”.

This is coming following the devastating impact of the California Wildfires which has forced an order to be issued for more than 100,000 people to evacuate Southern California.

The US President also “ordered Federal assistance to supplement response efforts in areas affected by wildfires and immediate access to funds and resources to begin their recovery.”

Five (5) people have been confirmed dead.

According to President Biden: “I’ve approved Governor Newsom’s request for a major disaster declaration and ordered Federal assistance to supplement response efforts in areas affected by wildfires, ensuring impacted communities and survivors have immediate access to funds and resources to begin their recovery.”
