Irish taxi driver to serve 30 years for multiple rapes

A taxi driver, 50, who targeted vulnerable women going home at night has bagged a sentence of 17 years for raping two young women on separate nights in 2022.

From Melrose Cresent, Clondalkin in Dublin, Raymond Shorten, was earlier this week sentenced to 13 years behind bars for raping and sexually assaulting a seven-year old girl in 2012.

Shorten will be serve his jail term for 30 years in total as a judge ruled the sentences should run consecutively.

The Irish man had denied all the allegations against him, however, was found guilty in separate trials earlier this year by juries.
