He made the statement as he “introduce electric bikes, tricycles, and CNG tricycles”, which he said, is an “event, which falls under the 2nd Phase of our Energy Transition Programme”.
According to Governor Abiodun: “Today, we celebrate a major milestone in our journey towards a sustainable future for Ogun State. This event, which falls under the 2nd Phase of our Energy Transition Programme, reflects our commitment to innovation, environmental sustainability, and economic empowerment, all part of our “Building Our Future Together” agenda.
“We warmly welcome key figures, including the Honourable Minister of Transportation, Senator Saidu Ahmed Alkali, and representatives from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd., along with our partners from Spiro Mobility Nigeria Limited and Nigeria Gas & Transport Solutions Ltd.
“As a responsible government, we aim to mitigate the impact of subsidy removal and high diesel costs, having already led the country in the energy transition by launching CNG-fueled buses. Now, we are proud to introduce electric bikes, tricycles, and CNG tricycles, which will significantly reduce transport costs and promote a cleaner environment.
We are also breaking ground on a new assembly facility in Iperu Remo, set to create thousands of jobs and support our youth with technical training programs. This initiative, along with the upcoming phase of the Ogun Youth Empowerment Scheme (OGYES), underscores our commitment to creating a secure and friendly business environment.
We encourage investors to explore opportunities in Ogun State, particularly in the power, telecommunications, and industrial sectors. Our gratitude goes to all the partners who have made this programme possible. Together, we are not just part of the future—we are actively shaping it.”
