According to National Hurricane Center (NHC), “Hurricane Milton which is extremely powerful is expected to reach Florida on Wednesday night.”
FL Division of Emergency Management shared some tips on how to use generator as “power outages are expected statewide.”
It advised: “Hurricane #Milton is expected to bring multiple weather hazards such as high winds, deadly storm surge, tornadoes & heavy rain.
Power outages are anticipated statewide due to these hazards. If you use a generator, do so safely. Use the tips below:”
It continued: “TODAY there are free evacuation shuttles operating in Pinellas, Pasco & Hillsborough counties helping residents reach shelters for #Milton.
“Finalize your #Milton preparations TODAY! Beginning tomorrow, portions of the state will be experiencing tropical storm force winds which means it’s unsafe to drive or be outside.
Evacuate if you were told to do so & reduce risks by picking up or tying down items near your home.”
