Chelsea 0-1 Manchester City: Semenyo’s goal seal FA Cup win for Cityzens

Antoine Semenyo’s goal was all Manchester City needed to emerge victorious by a lone goal in the FA Cup 2025/26 final against Chelsea on Saturday 16 May, 2026 at Wembley Stadium in London.

The winger has been very essential for Manchester City since his move from AFC Bournemouth in January, 2026, netting his 10th goal, a special one, for the Cityzens on Saturday afternoon against the Blues.

Semenyo converted Erling Haaland’s low cross into the box in the 72nd minute after holding off Levi Colwill. Pep Guardiola’s Cityzens had needed some help in opening up Chelsea’s stubborn defence and the England-born Ghanaian provided it.

The victory is coming after Manchester City had emerged losers in back-to-back FA Cup finals.

With this feat, Manchester City have completed a double of the domestic cups after winning the EFL Cup 2025/26 in March. City defeated Arsenal 2-0 to win the Carabao Cup.

It makes it a whopping twenty (20) trophies for Spanish manager, Guardiola, at the Etihad Stadium.

After missing out on the trophy, Chelsea have also missed out on next season’s Uefa Europa League, and, with two (2) games remaining, the Blues can only fight for a place in the Uefa Europa Conference League 2026/27.
