On Friday 17 April, 2026, Kashim Shettima, vice President, has commissioned the newly built Presidential Lodge, Government House Clinic, as well as, other facilities in Maiduguri, Borno State worth “billions of Naira”.
The Clinic alongside other facilities were built within the the State’s Government House Complex. These facilities include, “the New Governor’s Office Complex, Protocol Office, and the Government House Jumma’at Mosque”, as made known via the official X account of the VP.
The projects were executed by “the Acting Chief of Staff to the Governor, Engr. (Dr) Babagana Mustapha Mallumbe”.
Consequently, Shettima joined Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, Executive Governor of Borno State, for the first Jumma’at prayers.
The Vice President extolled the Governor for the “quality of work” executed by his administration, and, for his “stewardship” to the people of the Northeastern State.
