Right inside the Red Bull Arena, Bayern Munich came from the back to wallop RB Leipzig 5-1 in the Bundesliga 2025/26 match on Saturday 17 January, 2026.
In a jaw-dropping second half cameo, former Crystal Palace star, Michael Olise, found the back of the net once and recorded three assists to help Vincent Kompany’s Bavarians clinch maximum points on the road.
The result means Bayern Munich have successfully maintained their unbeaten record in the German top flight this campaign.
At half time, RB Leipzig, fourth-placed, were in front after Romulo Cruz struck in the 20th minute with D. Raum’s assist.
And just five (5) minutes into the second half, Dayot Upamecano provided for Serge Gnabry, who levelled for the visitors.
Former Burnley head coach, Kompany, introduced Frenchman, Olise, in the 56th minute, who powered Bayern to victory.
The France winger provided for Harry Kane, who netted Bayern Munich’s second in the 67th minute; Olise went ahead to assist defender, Jonathan Tah, and another defender, Aleksandar Pavlovic, both who scored in the 83rd and 85th minutes respectively to take the score to 4-1.
Late, in the 88th minute, the provider, Olise, was then provided for by 22-year old Jamal Musiala – the France international sealed the win for Bayern with the fifth.
Antonio Nusa should have placed RB Leipzig in front in the 7th minute, but, the hosts eventually got their lead following their early dominance through Romulo.
Despite amassing nine (9) shots in the first half, the hosts were unable to extend their lead, that opened the gates and doors for former Arsenal player, Gnabry, to level before the introduction of Olise, who crowned Bayern Munich’s beautiful performance with the winner with a curling effort.
With this outcome, Bayern Munich remain toppers with fifty (50) points, Borussia Dortmund, who are trailing, have amassed thirty-nine (39) points, both after eighteen (18) games, while, RB Leipzig are fourth with thirty-two (32) points, after seventeen (17) games.
