Senator Shehu Sani has called on Dangote Petroleum Refinery to recall the hundreds of Nigerian workers dismissed over their decision to “unionise”.
The Senator also called on the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) to halt its “decision to cut off Gas supplies to Dangote refinery”.
Sani said, Nigeria is “proud” of Dangote Refinery and the “unprecedented level of success” it has attained, however, he added, the workers have the right to “unionise”.
Senator Sani posted: “Dangote should recall the Workers sacked because of their decision to join their trade unions and PENGASAN should suspend their decision to cut off Gas supplies to Dangote refinery.
“The nation is proud of Dangote’s Refinery and it’s unprecedented level of success, but the right of workers to Unionise is embedded in the laws of our country.”
