Fenerbahçe defender, Nelson Semedo, has been diagnosed with muscle injury in the left groin area.
The Portuguese right-back picked up the injury during the Uefa Champions League Play-off against Portuguese club, Benfica, which ended 1-0 in favour of the Eagles.
The player’s injury was confirmed after an MRI scan was conducted at a hospital, and treatment has commenced, the Yellow Canaries announced.
In its ‘Health Status Update’ on Semedo via X Fenerbahçe announced: “In our Professional Football First Team, our player Nelson Semedo, who was forced to leave the game after receiving a blow during the match against Benfica, has undergone an MRI scan at @MedicanaSaglik Ataşehir Hospital.
“As a result of the evaluation conducted, treatment has been initiated for our player, who has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in the left groin area.”
Portuguese manager, Jose Mourinho, was sacked by Fenerbahçe after he failed to help the Club secure a spot in the Uefa Champions League 2025/26.
Fenerbahçe finished second, behind Galatasaray in the Süper Lig 2024/25.
