Governor Eno to improve soldiers’ accommodation in Akwa Ibom

Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno, has assured to support intervention project at Wellington Bassey Barracks in Abak.

The Governor said, the move will help “improve soldiers’ accommodation”, as well as, “motivate them in service”.

Eno gave the assurance on Tuesday when he welcomed Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Oluyede, to Government House in Uyo.

He made known, his government has already supported projects at the 2 Brigade Cantonment in Nsit Ibom and will not stop to support the Nigerian Army in ensuring the safety of the South-South State.

Governor Eno posted on X: “I welcomed the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Oluyede, and his team to Government House, Uyo. I assured them that Akwa Ibom State will support intervention projects at Wellington Bassey Barracks in Abak to improve soldiers’ accommodation and further motivate them in service.

“We’ve already supported projects at the 2 Brigade Cantonment in Nsit Ibom and will continue to support the Nigerian Army and other security agencies that help keep our State safe.”

Eno also pleaded for the creation of military operations outpost in Prom coastal area to bolster security in the area.

Governor Eno further posted: “I also appealed for the establishment of a military operations outpost in the Oron coastal area to strengthen security there, and I am grateful that the Army Chief has graciously accepted this request.

“I sincerely appreciate the Army’s collaboration with other agencies, which has made Akwa Ibom one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria. Together, we’ll keep building a safe and prosperous State.”
