Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Executive Governor of Lagos State, has made known his commitment to preserving the rich cultural heritage of the Southwestern State.
The Governor said, “our history matters.”
Governor Sanwo-Olu made the statement as he received Mr. Olugbile Holloway, Director-General of the National Commission for Museums and Monuments at Lagos House, Marina on Tuesday.
In their conversation, they talked about how Lagos can play its role to effectively preserve its culture.
Governor Sanwo-Olu posted on X: “I received the DG of the National Commission for Museums and Monuments, Mr. Olugbile Holloway, and his senior management team at Lagos House, Marina.
“We had a conversation about preserving our rich cultural heritage and how Lagos can continue to play a key role in that effort. Our history matters and I’m glad we’re building stronger partnerships to protect it.”
Economy wise, Lagos State is one of the fastest-growing urban areas in the world. It is the most populous city in Nigeria, as well as, one of the most important states in the West African country.
Lagos is a huge financial center, and possesses one of the largest economies in Africa.
It is also an important culture, transportation and education base for Nigeria; known for its dynamic culture and vibrant markets.
