Lin Jian, Spox of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, has said, “China and the US are not having any consultation or negotiation on tariffs”, adding “still less reaching a deal”.
Jian said, the United States (US) started the “tariff war”, and “China will fight, if fight we must”.
The Chinese MFA Spox added, “Our doors are open, if the US wants to talk. Dialogue and negotiation must be based on equality, respect and mutual benefit.”
The “tariff war” between US and China started after President Donald Trump imposed ‘Reciprocal Tariffs’ on China and almost all countries in the world.
The move forced China to retaliate by imposing higher tariffs on US products coming into China.
Lin Jian said: “China and the US are not having any consultation or negotiation on tariffs, still less reaching a deal.
“This tariff war is launched by the US. China’s position is consistent and clear: We will fight, if fight we must. Our doors are open, if the US wants to talk. Dialogue and negotiation must be based on equality, respect and mutual benefit.”
