Nottingham Forest held on for a 2-1 triumph over Tottenham Hotspur at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to clinch their Champions League chase back on track and climb up to third in the Premier League table.
Manager Nuno Espirito Santo’s side had dropped out of the top five over the weekend as a result of victories for Manchester City and Chelsea, however, bounced back from consecutive defeats with a beautiful start in north London.
Nottingham Forest opened scoring through Elliot Anderson’s deflected strike early, in the 5th minute and Chris Wood made it two in the 16th minute, before Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs pulled one back late, in the 87th minute through Brazilian forward, Richarlison.
Nottingham Forest are third with 60 points while Tottenham Hotspur are 16th with 37 points.
HC: What Nuno Espirito Santo did to transform Nottingham Forest to what is is right now is marvelling. While the Tricky Trees are fighting for a spot in next season’s Champions League, Manchester United and Tottenham are still wriggling below top ten.
