Dikko Umaru Radda, Executive Governor of Katsina State, has commissioned Model and Smart Schools on Tuesday 5 May, 2026.
One of the three (3) newly built model secondary schools in Katsina, the Katsina Model and Smart Secondary School in Radda, was commissioned to “transform education” in the Northwestern State, the Governor said via X.
Radda said: “Yesterday marked a defining moment in our journey to transform education in Katsina State as we commissioned the Katsina Model and Smart Secondary School, Radda, one of the three newly established model secondary schools in Katsina, a project that brings to life a vision I conceived over three decades ago.”
The institution is “deliberately designed” to enhance the “knowledge, skill and global exposure” of the children of Katsina State, needed to help them grow in our current world that is “technology-driven”.
Radda said: “This institution represents far more than physical infrastructure. It is a deliberate investment in our children, designed to equip them with the knowledge, skills, and global exposure required to thrive in a rapidly evolving, technology-driven world.”
The school was intentionally established to foster “excellence, discipline, and leadership among our young people” as it features:
” • smart classrooms
• science laboratories
• digital learning tools,
• and modern residential facilities”
The Governor made known, the guiding principle of his administration remains that, “no child in Katsina should be denied access to quality education because of their background”.
He further made known, he is developing opportunities that will be helpful for every “talented” child in the State to thrive through “merit-based and inclusive admission process”.
The State has also developed the Katsina State Policy on Safety, Security, and Violence-Free Schools with the aim to further bolster its education system. The Policy was launched officially by Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa, Minister of Education.
Governor Radda assured, his government will not cease to “prioritise education as the foundation for sustainable development, innovation, and long-term prosperity”.
