West Ham 1-1 Manchester United: Sesko’s stoppage time leveller deny Hammers Premier League survival

Substitute, Benjamin Sesko, came on to help Manchester United return home with one point and deny West Ham United a crucial victory in their quest to survive in the Premier League.

At the London Stadium, on Tuesday 10 February, 2026, Manchester United and West Ham United finished 1-1 in the Premier League 2025/26 match – a game that looked like it had gone the way of the home side, however, cost Reds interim manager, Michael Carrick, his fifth top flight victory back-to-back.

After a first 45 minutes that recorded no goal, Tomas Soucek’s tap-in from an assist by Jarrod Bowen in the 50th minute placed the Hammers in front. West Ham would have moved level on points with Nottingham Forest, who are 17th in the standings if they had emerged winner.

English right winger, Bowen, bullied Shaw to provide for Soucek, who found the back of the net, few minutes after the break.

Tuesday night presented Carrick’s United with a different test, the Reds struggled to breakthrough against a revamped West Ham United despite recording more ball possession than their hosts in London.

Congolese defender, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who was inspirational in the clash, ensured his former side did not go in front in the first half when he cleared defender, Luke Shaw’s effort off the line following a finely-worked corner routine.

Casemiro found the net for Manchester United in the 63rd minute, but, his goal was ruled offside following a check by Video Assistant Referee (VAR).

In the 6th minute of additional time, Bryan Mbeumo then set up Sesko, who levelled for the visitors to share spoils.

The outcome means West Ham United have dropped points and handed Nottingham Forest the chance to go clear off the Hammers as they play against Wolves on Wednesday.

Nottingham Forest will slug it out with Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League match on Wednesday 11 February, 2026 at City Ground at 20:30 (WAT).

The Tricky Trees are heading into the game with twenty-six (26) points, on the 17th spot, while, Wolves are bottom, 20th spot, with a meagre eight (8) points.

It was a display that would have made West Ham United very proud, but, eventually, the feeling is one of dissatisfaction as Nuno Espirito De Santo’s Hammers surrendered another winning position and two (2) highly vital Premier League points at the end of an exhausting encounter.

Manchester United remain 4th with forty-five (45) points, while, West Ham United are 18th with twenty-four (24) points.
