Sunderland come from the back to stun Chelsea 2-1 at Stamford Bridge

Sunderland fought from behind to discomfit Chelsea 2-1 in the Premier League 2025/26 match at Stamford Bridge on Saturday 25 October, 2025.

The Black Cats’ winner came very late through Chemsdine Talbi after converting from the edge of the box after a quick counter-attack.

Enzo Maresca’s Blues went in front in the 4th minute through Argentine winger, Alejandro Garnacho, but, the visitors levelled through Wilson Isidor, who scored from close range for his fourth goal of the season after Chelsea were unable to clear their lines from a long throw.

Talbi sealed the win for Sunderland in the 3rd minute of additional time to snatch all three (3) points.

Sunderland, who gained promotion from Championship, beautifully took advantage of the space left in the Blues’ half as substitute Brian Brobbery latched on to a long ball, fought hard to hold on to possession and laid off for Talbi to score a famous winner.
