Governor Abiodun announced on X: “Today, we officially unveiled the renovated Olumo Tourist Complex, a proud symbol of our cultural identity, unity, and resilience.
“As the spiritual heart of the Egba people and a revered national monument, Olumo Rock holds deep historical and emotional significance, not only for Ogun State but for Nigeria as a whole.
“This renovation reflects our unwavering commitment to preserving our heritage, promoting tourism, and unlocking new economic opportunities for our people. We have transformed Olumo Rock into a modern heritage destination, complete with safer pathways, digital tour guides, improved visitor facilities, and artisan zones to support local enterprise.
“It is now a place where tradition meets innovation, and where culture empowers commerce.
“We deeply appreciate the invaluable support of Kabiyesi, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, our host communities, and all stakeholders who contributed to this success.
“This effort is part of our broader plan to build a vibrant tourism corridor across Ogun State, from the Olumo Rock to other cultural landmarks like the Alake’s Palace, Bilikisu Sungbo Shrine, and the Adire Market.
“Let this moment remind us all, especially our youth, that true development lies not only in physical infrastructure but in preserving the soul of our people. We invite local and international investors to join us as we build a tourism-driven economy that celebrates our history and secures our future.
“Together, we proudly declare the Olumo Tourist Complex open to the world. Igbega Ipinle Ogun, ajose gbogbo wa ni!”
